Grade Calculators

Every grade tool here, and which one to reach for. Start with the Canvas grade calculator if your course uses weighted assignment groups — that covers most Canvas courses. Use points to grade instead when everything is simply points out of a total, and what-if when the score you care about has not been graded yet.

All of them run entirely in your browser, save your work locally, and need no account. Looking for GPA rather than a single course grade? That is the GPA calculators hub.

Which one do you actually need?

The quickest way to tell is to look at how your course is graded. If your syllabus lists categories with percentages — Homework 20%, Quizzes 15%, Exams 65% — your course is weighted, and the Canvas grade calculator is the one that matches it. If instead everything is just points out of a total, with no categories at all, use points to grade. Running the wrong model is the most common reason two calculators disagree about the same course.

Timing matters too. For work already graded, you want your current standing. For a score that has not happened yet — a final you are studying for, an assignment you could still hand in — the what-if calculator lets you try a hypothetical score and watch the result move. And if your instructor has said they will curve an exam, the curve calculator shows what each of the five common curve methods would do — including the one that can lower a high score.

A grade here always means a single course. Averaging several courses together, weighted by credit, is a GPA, and those tools live on the GPA hub. Every calculator on this page runs entirely in your browser, saves your work on your own device, and never asks for an account.
